Modern Purple & Green Newport Beach Wedding

We’re having a purple day here on Utterly Engaged. Did you see the adorable engagement from New York this morning? Wait ’til you see this wedding we have below and later today. So much purple, we want to see more!

Jenny from Alders Photography, sent us this sweet, intimate, purple and green wedding in Newport Beach, Ca. and we had to share it with you. Congratulations to Courtney and Colin!

How did you meet? And how did he propose?

Colin and I met through a mutual friend in May 2006. Soon after we met we knew we had something very special! The next year we moved to Huntington Beach, CA together and have been here since. We love the beach so much that Colin proposed to me on the beach in Coos Bay, Oregon. My grandparents live there and it is one of the most beautiful places. It was very special to share this time with my family!

Our venue was amazing in every way. We initially chose it for the location, close to the beach and the beautiful view of the bay. The location represented the place that we love most! When we walked into the venue we could picture our wedding day here!

Favorite Memory:

Seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day was such a special moment, filled with happiness and emotion. We took in every minute and enjoyed it all! It was such a joy to be surrounded by all of our family and friends. The music was amazing and we danced all night long!

Let’s bring the outdoors inside with lots of flowers! The colors were purple, lime green and white with gold accents. Butterflies were all around. This made the room feel very light and airy. When everything was all put together it was perfect and Colin loved it too

One of our favorite parts of wedding planning was taking dancing lessons! Colin and I took ballroom lessons the weeks before the wedding. It was so fun to connect with each other on the dance floor and share our new moves for our first dance as husband and wife!

Advice to other brides:

Once the wedding day comes, just go with what happens and enjoy it all, it goes by so quickly.
