The other day I frowned after spritzing myself with my perfume. I’m just not happy with it. It is an admittedly different perfume than I normally purchase (A bit on the woodsy side; I’m usually a floral kinda girl), but at the time I bought it I was looking to try something new. A few months after I purchased that one, I found a Tocca bottle on sale at Anthropologie and purchased that one – unfortunately it doesn’t have much staying power. So here I am, unhappy with two semi-full bottles of perfume. I’m usually not one to keep on buying perfumes (they are usually upwards of $60 a pop!), my mind keeps wandering back to the most perfect perfume I’ve ever smelled. This perfume always pops into my head when brides ask what kind of “special” perfume they should wear on their wedding day.
I discovered L’Artisan Parfumeur two years ago at Henri Bendel. It. Is. Divine. Their most popular selling scent is La Chasse aux Papillons. This particular scent is: “Inspired by a childhood memory of chasing butterflies and playing hide-and-seek under blossoming branches, the scent is evocative of siestas in the shade of lemon and orange trees, of butterflies dancing in sunshine, of light breeze carrying heavenly aromas of lime blossoms, tuberose and jasmine … It is the scent of white petals caught with the butterfly net. The very essence of summer has been distilled to create La Chasse Aux Papillons. Let this infinitely feminine, exuberant bouquet of white flowers remind you of careless sunny days year round.”
I mean come on! It definitely smells as good as it sounds. They have TONS of other scents, so you are sure to find one that you’ll fall in love with. Other than smelling like heaven, it really has a long staying power, which is really important (to me, anyways!). So, if you’re in the market for a new scent, check them out!
