Happy Friday! As the weather gets hotter, I like to stay indoors with A/C on during the day and find excuses to go outside at night. I just love summer nights! It’s the perfect time to chill and enjoy some good company. About a week ago, Ruby from cakies (who happens to be my newest blog crush!) and Danni from Oh, Hello Friend gave me the perfect excuse to do just that. They invited us to a bloggers cake party! Suh-weeeet! Who could say no to that! The only requirement is to come with a cake in tow. And I double checked with Danni that boxed cake mix is a perfectly qualified cake. It’s so on!
I found pineapple cake mix (on sale!) and decided to add in some of my own touches. I added grated coconut and a bit of fresh lime juice in the batter and voila! I got a tropical coconut pineapple cake! For the frosting, I infused a classic white frosting with some fresh lime juice too, to give it a little tang. And it worked! To top it off, some shredded coconut and a rim of green sugar sprinkles. Ta-da! All done. I was proud of these babies!
When we got there, it was all you would expect from a bloggers cake party. The table where the cakes reside were super adorably set up! Of course, when you take Ruby’s and Danni’s awesome vintage styles, you get vintage heaven! And everyone there had an SLR camera ready to snap these beauties! Lucy and I were a bit under equipped with our phone cameras, but it’ll do. So this is how you start a bloggers party… lol!
Ruby was so thoughtful to set up a kiddie table for all the kids there and made a homemade play dough kit for each of them. My daughter Hannah loved all the vintage chairs there and they’re all her size! She also loved sipping her lemonade from a glass jar. My little social butterfly enjoyed hanging out with her new friends, Ruby’s three daughters True, Brave and Soul, and Myra’s daughter Michaela.

Thank you blogger friends, Ruby from cakies, Danni from Oh, Hello Friend, Myra from double-sidedtape, Linda from parked together, Lillian from unstitched, and Lauren from lauren elise crafted. We should do this again! If you’re looking for ideas for a bridal shower or just to get your closest girlfriends together, you might want to consider a cake party in the backyard one of these summer nights. It’s simply a lovely night with lovely company. And of course, who doesn’t like cakes ; ).
