We don’t know if you’ve heard yet, but Google Reader has officially shut down as of today. We’re deeply sadden, because it was our tool to keep up with a lot of our favorite blogs on the reader. But, we’re happy to say we found another blog feed to use, Feedly. It’s easy to import your list and it’s quite beautiful and easy to use. Earlier today we went to the countryside, this afternoon we’re bringing the rustic and vintage charm of the country to the suburbs of Orange County, Ca.
FROM THE BRIDE:
Our wedding was absolutely everything we hoped it would be and more. By far the sweetest, most beautiful day and wedding I could ask for. I wanted our wedding to be very soft, romantic, vintage, and personal. We especially wanted to create a very personalized day that would make our guests feel welcome and relaxed. I chose to have peach, blush, and beige as the main color scheme in my wedding. One of my favorite things were the flowers and how romantic it made it. I loved the way the venue turned out altogether. It was beyond my imagination.
The preparation for the big day was filled with flea markets, DIY projects, and of course lots of nervous excitement. My mom and I created many, if not all, of the decor set-ups and personalized touches. I spent hours making the tags for inside the guest book, cutting out and stenciling banners for around the venue, writing on chalkboards, and fluffing tissue pom-poms, which really was something Jarrett took into his own hands!
We loved incorporating the personal items that really made our wedding so unique to us as a couple. Jarrett and I first met with a group of friends at a bowling alley and ever since bowling has held a special place in our hearts. We used bowling pins and photos and even a stuffed Mickey Mouse, we always went to Disneyland and it was his first gift to me, to display the personal parts of our relationship to every friend and family member that shared in our day. The decor was full of love and meaning, and even hard work. I think that is one of the many reasons that we felt so at home and so full of love at our wedding.
One of the special pieces was the wooden heart that hung above the cookie table. This heart was made by my lovely Maid of Honor, who is my soon to be sister-in-law as well, and her father. They spent hours building this amazing piece and it meant so much to me that she spent the time and effort to make something so beautiful and meaningful for our wedding.
Another really interesting fact about our wedding day is that I woke up with a fever! I ended up being sick the day we got married and he ended up sick and with a fever the next day, too. Despite taking my temperature throughout the day, eating crackers, feeling nauseousand nervous it still was such an amazing and memorable day. My toast after cake-cutting was made with a scratchy voice and congested nose, but nonetheless a full smile. The newly married couple spent a week in bed nursing sickness!
Every part of the day and the decor was lovely. From the flowers to the vintage furniture to the personal touches and the delicious cake, it all made us so happy! We will cherish that day for the rest of our lives, along with each little detail!
