Romantic Lakeside Wedding in Montana

Danae and John are two of the sweetest people, with such great style and a love story adorable enough for the movies! Cara from Goldfinch Events created the entire design, and really channeled the couple’s romantic and classic aesthetic. We were so inspired by their love for each other, their families and friends, that once you see the images, we truly believe you can feel it too.

Danae, who is a former Seattle Seahawks cheerleader and obviously a natural beauty, looked absolutely stunning in her lace Monique Lhuillier gown, with her gorgeous friends in gray Joanna August dresses. Our favorite part of the day, even if it’s hard to pick just one, would be sneaking the couple away for their First Look! It’s always such an honor to witness that moment, and Danae and John were so perfect together.

From the Bride:
“John and I met a few months after I moved to Seattle from Montana, when my college friends came into town for Seafair weekend. Seafair is a summer festival in Seattle known for a variety of events such as the Torchlight parade, the Blue Angles, and of course the infamous boat parties on lake Washington. John and I had mutual friends from attending the University of Montana, so we managed to get us all on one boat that was far too small. Which, inevitably, ended up sinking..twice!! John and I had so much fun together and had made an instant connection. So instant in fact, my best friend and maid of honor overheard John talking about me to his friend stating, “I’m going to marry that girl someday”. I never did give him my number, which I deeply regretted. Luckily, a few months later, we ran into each other at a restaurant. We immediately started dating, and have been inseparable ever since.”

“Keeping the color palette a neutral gray, white and blush, with touches of marble accents and letting the natural lake setting take center stage. The long wood tables were adorned with soft gray runners, lush floral centerpieces from Mum’s Flowers, glowing candles, and the prettiest tableware from The TOP. The beautifully lined tent glowed with custom chandeliers with greenery draped around while the sun set on the lake making the whole wedding feel warm and inviting.”

“We had been dating one year and one month when John decided to propose to me. He was away in New York for the week at a work conference, and flew me out for the weekend to have fun and experience New York City. I knew that John was going to propose to me that weekend. Not because I was told, or that there were any hints even! I knew that he felt as strongly about me as I did about him, and the timing just felt so right! We are always on the same page about everything, and I mean everything, I was sure this situation couldn’t be any different. Friday morning we had a lovely brunch, then bundled up on that brisk March day for a tour through Central Park, via horse and carriage. We approached the friendship fountain and stopped to get out and “take a picture”. That’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, a day I’ll never forget.”
