A Wedding in the Mountains
for the Adventurous Couple

When a guy that loves to fish, falls in love with a girl that grew up hiking the Adirondacks. It would be no surprise if they chose to get married in the mountains and near the most stunning lake. With Lauren and Carter’s common love for adventure and the outdoors, they celebrated their wedding day in the most memorable way.

From their photographer, Ashley Caroline:  They decided to marry in front of Ausable Lake where Lauren spent many summers canoeing up the lake to their family’s camp site. The views of this lake surrounded by two mountains is one of the most beautiful sites I’ve ever seen. 35 family and friends gathered on a hunter green bus and adventured on a fun bumpy ride to the ceremony spot. A family member played the guitar as Lauren walked down the aisle with her father. Everyone was moved when we could see that Carter’s eyes were tearing up. It was by far, my favorite moment of the day. Not even the drizzle of rain could stop this wedding from being stop-in-your-tracks beautiful.

Lauren wore dainty white flowers in hair as her Sarah Seven dress swayed in the wind. She held a lovely bouquet of ivory and blush roses and white hydrangeas with touches of greenery. Carter wore a navy suit and the biggest smile I’ve seen.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered at the boat house for a toast overlooking the incredible views. All the guests gathered back on the bus to finish the evening on the Ausable Lake Club porch with speeches and laughter filling the mountain air. Tables were decorated with candles and the wildflower centerpieces were wrapped in bark from birch trees. I loved the rustic setting surrounded by the mountains.

The next morning, we took the first bus back to the lake to hike up Indian Head. Once we arrived at the top of the mountain, Lauren and Carter dressed into their wedding ensemble and the clouds began to scatter. The views were spectacular from every angle as we enjoyed the peak in private. I just kept snapping all the sweet moments between Lauren and Carter as we somehow managed to avoid the crowds. It’s as beautiful and breathtaking as it looks – and I’ll just keep dreaming to photograph another wedding that is even remotely similar to this one. Because truly, this wedding was like a dream.
