From Winter to Spring Wedding Inspiration

A few weeks ago I traveled to Colorado to collaborate with my dear friend and amazing wedding photographer, Candace Cross, to explore and create and an editorial photoshoot in Telluride, Colorado. Being from Southern California, not only was I blown away by the Colorado’s landscape but the talented artists and creatives we collaborated with in Colorado equally inspired me. Their passion for their craft, and for their desire to create beauty left such an impression on me. I absolutely loved working with everyone and seeing how it all come together so beautifully. Thank you Candace, Frannie, Sutton, Kelly, Erin, Megan, Ashley, Preston, and Clara for inviting me and for opening up your heart and home.

During our brainstorming stage, Floral designer, Frannie of New Leaf Design, and I were moved to create a shoot inspired by this idea of a “Spring Awakening”. With the help from Sutton, we wanted to explore what it would be like if we created a story that moved from winter to spring. It was perfect timing because when I arrived it was snowing. But the use of vibrant florals for the shoot had me excited that spring was just around the corner.

From Frannie, “For this spring awakening shoot, we explore the transition between winter and spring. The subtle changes from the monochromatic landscape of winter with dried tawny grasses poking through the snow to a greener brighter world. Icy accents are appropriate as the world is literally- frozen skeletal leaves and add icy chips to the tops of arrangements as the icy world gives way to a gentler climate.”

What a stunning table! I especially love the idea how Frannie created a ceiling installation that turned into a tumble weed pendant. And the ombre effect on the table from winter white to vibrant colorful spring was a site to see. It was truly beautiful!
