Minimalistic Organic Wedding Inspiration

When calligrapher, Vita Popov of Pop Calligraphy, realized that modern minimalism is rarely shown through weddings, she wanted to create a styled shoot to show how well it can be put together without it feeling too cold yet warm. With the help of amazing creatives such as Samantha Kirk, Fern and Flower, and Blooming Mira Designs they created a wedding inspiration that was simple and modern yet still romantic and organic.

 Vita says, “We created this shoot out of the love for minimalism. With ‘less is more’ in mind, we kept it simple and modern yet still capturing a romantic and organic feel. We were inspired by clean lines and fresh, light colors with some pops of black and a touch of romanticism from the blush and burgundy tones.”

We loved how Fern and Flower used nature’s greenery in free forming vines that framed the hand written calligraphy backdrop. Romance and minimalism danced together with the simplicity of the invitation suite and calligraphy. The play on hard and soft was continued in the jewelry with a delicate gold chain and lava bead pendant along with sculptural cuffs and dainty magnet earnings. Soft hair and makeup by maple and moss accentuated the bride’s natural beauty along with a dress that really makes one understand that less is more.

Paper Heart Patisserie took our inspiration of concrete and clean lines and fully expressed it through the cake. She separated the faux concrete from the stark white with hand painted gold leaves. And of course, the concrete floor of the venue played in so beautifully with what we were trying to achieve. We used the natural beauty of the space and sunlight to capture the simplicity of the overall look.

Such tenderness and passion radiated from the lovely bride and groom ( a real couple). It was so wonderful to see how their God driven love was captured.

“Elements of concrete were seen on the table with handmade candle holders and a dark bowl for the gorgeous centerpiece by Fern and Flower. Clean lines translated into the florals with bay leaves, pale pink anemones and bold dahlias. The table remained soft with blush linens and muslin napkins. Clean, gold flatware was the perfect touch of elegance to this organic table setting. To keep the mood light and comfortable, lush berries and a bountiful cheese plate were added as organic, yet festive table elements.”

We tried to make every detail unique, yet simple, as we didn’t want anything to overpower the sheer simplicity of love. The fine aesthetic of Samantha’s film photography unveiled the raw simplicity of this inspiration for the minimalistic and elegant bride.
