From Laetitia, the floral designer “When Anna, the photographer, told me she was dreaming about shooting in a vineyard, I first thought we might organize something in the well-known Champagne area in France where I live and where I set up my studio some years ago. But Anna is living in Switzerland and then I thought… well maybe we should rather do that in the Swiss Alps!
In fact, if Switzerland’s landscape is so famous for its mountains that its wine production passes often unremarked. But growing grapes and producing wine in the Alps is absolutely remarkable by the simple fact that the terrain is extremely steep. In fact, this is where I grew up and where my roots are. Finding a good place to shoot was therefore easy, I was at home. I used to work in the vineyard we shot in during summers in my high school years. I knew the place was amazing and hoped Anna would love it as much as I do.
In terms of styling, it was clear from the beginning that we wanted a strong seasonal inspiration. Autumn colors were surrounding us with all their warm energy and we used them without limit, together with the deep hues of the swiss red wine. The atmosphere in the shoot is simple and authentic but does not fall into any Swiss cliché. I wanted to show my love for Switzerland. Most tableware pieces are in fact family inherited, just like the wineglasses which my parents got for their own wedding about 40 years ago…
