Walking on Cloud 9 – Inspiration Board

When we were brainstorming for the Issue #14, themed “white”, we wanted to incorporate something that wasn’t typically the first thing you think of when you think white. Since this issue was coming out the beginning of the year, “white” was perfect. Staring fresh, it’s a new year, a blank slate to start a new part of your life, and when you think of weddings you can’t help but think of white. We wanted to redefine “white”. I had to go back 9 years of my memory file and to discover what “white” meant to me. I remember the first year of dating with my husband we spent a lot of time laying on grass, talking for hours, napping under trees, and staring up into the sky and ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the clouds. That sounds cheesy, but it wasn’t. Because it was during those moments we talked, shared our dreams and it was there our relationship blossomed. And bam, that’s where our idea came from. Let me break it down for you, to show you how my creative thought went when I was brainstorming… this was all happening in my mind while I was driving.

Look at those big fluffy clouds.
Gosh, I remember those days when Phil and I would just lay and talk for hours.
I still can’t believe we’re going to celebrate our 9 years of dating soon.
OMG. 9!
Clouds.
Cloud 9!!
That’s it. Cloud 9! I need to go home now.

So as you can imagine, I had to rush home and create this inspiration board that I had in my head.

I wanted the end result to be magical, fresh, innocent, sweet, intimate, ethereal, beautiful, soft, glowing and especially loving. And the amazing team behind did all that and more. When I walked on set for the photoshoot. I literally teared up. They heard my vision and brought back memories of the first time I fell in love with my husband. I just wanted to sit and savor every little detail. Jesi, Jill, Shelby, Melinda, Amber, Jeni, Allison, Maureen, and Erica – what a dream team, you’re all so amazing.
