Romantic Elopement in Florence, Italy

The last time I was in Italy it was 20 years ago. And what I remembered most was the incredible architecture. So when planner and designer Chiara shared this inspired elopement in Florence, Italy, I was captured all over again. Although time has passed, the beauty still remains. From the the amazing elegance of an Italian garden to the most perfect postcard-worthy views of Florence, Chiara is so right, “Be it the old architecture, the marble statues, or the lush and intricate gardens, we just can’t get enough of Tuscany!”  Thank you Chiara for sharing such a beautiful shoot with us. From my perspective, I saw this that wasn’t just a photoshoot, but a reminder to all of us to how important is for us to hold on to tradition and beauty. Just as John Ruskin once said, our duty is to preserve what the past has had to say for itself, and to say for ourselves what shall be true for the future.

Lately I’ve been enamored by a facebook page called Architectural Revival, focused on holding onto history and tradition.  With this shoot taken place at Villa Bardini, it provided the old world elegance that I’m currently loving. Photographer Jenny Soi and planner and designer Chiara chose the perfect place! “With enchanting colors across all elements from florals to our tablescape, we were inspired by the natural tones and colors of Italian art, sophisticated sculptures, and the romantic architecture of Italy.”

From Chiara, “My design focused on Italian art: Florence hand-painted dishes were matched with gold-engraved white marble place cards. The candlesticks were decorated by floral designer Jardin Divers with berries and artichokes to recreate a Renaissance dining experience.”
